Outfit of the day

Sorry that I'll my outfit post are work outfits.  I work 5 to 6 days a week, and lately the days I'm not working I'm not trying overly hard to make a great outfit!  Anyway, this is the outfit from yesturday's post.  The green oversized shirt and the double-u kneck dress underneath.  I belted the shirt to make it look like a dress and just wore some opaque tights underneath and a pair of low oxford heels.  The belt and the tights are both AA and the shoes are from spring, I think I got them a couple of years ago but I am still in love with them!
Sorry for the shitty photos, my camera sucks and the light in the apartment is no good, had to use the flash so the colours are a little bit off.  The last picture is closest to the trueist colour.

More Clothes!

For the past month I have been neglecting to do my laundry.  And I remembered why I have been putting off for so long when I tried to do it yesturday and ended up having to hang up all my clothes because the dryers in my building weren't working! I literally had five loads of laundry hanging/draped off anything possible around my entire apartment; the shower rod, over doors, door knobs, the tv, etc.   I never ran out of  clothes, (I have a lot two huge closets worth) but I only have a limited number of clothes that I can wear to the work. So I've been buying clothes so I have something to wear and I didn't realize how much I had I decided to re-organize my closest and put all the peices together in one place so getting ready would be easier.  I can barely close the drawer and I don't even have everything in it yet!

My AA clothes, accumulated over the past few months.
But you never really can have enough clothes.  So I recently got these two new peices, a black double-u neck mini dress with long sleeves and a greenish coloured oversized button up that I can legit wear as a dress, and I'm going to have too since it's way to big for me to wear as a regular shirt! But I really enjoy the colour and the dress is nice as well, simple but it has a low back for a bit flair. I guess I should slow down for a while and try to save my money.

New Trend: Bright Lips Two

This is a follow up on my previous post about the bright lip sticks.  I mentioned that I bought cover girls power pink lipstick. This is what it looks like on me, sorry for the shitty photos.
As you can see, it's not as pink as I hoped.  I do like how it moisturizes, it feels really good on my lips which is rare for a lipstick.  I think next time I'll look for a matte lipstick, possibly in red.  If anyone knows a good one let me know.

Outfit of the Day

I had to work all day today and that means head to toe American Apparel! But I don't mind.I wore the black
double U-neck body suit with the charcoal high waist-ed pleated pants, black bow tie, leather belt in black
and cotton ribbed socks.

I never use to be a fan of the high waisted pants before I started working at AA, but I'm in love with them now!

They are incredibly easy to wear; a t-shirt, belt and a pair of Keds and I'm ready to go, but it's slightly more polished then a pair a jeans, but just as simple!

I also love this body suit, it's just like a black t-shirt but the low back gives is a little something extra.

Sorry my hair is messy, decided sleep was more important this morning. And I apologize for my messy bedroom in the background.

I clearly stole the bow tie necklace idea from Drew Barrymore.  I think it's adorable, more so on her then on me, but this still is from her movie Going the Distance with Justin Long.. super funny!

New Year, New Shoes

My lovely parents didn't get me a Christmas present so I proposed that they could pay for a pair a boots I had been eyeing on the Aldo website. And because they were on sale they agreed to a pair of shoes as well. Yay.

I'm usually a heel girl, but since I literally walk everywhere, flats are much more practical. These are chunky boots but I think they will look great with cute girly dresses and thick socks.  I enjoy the lace up look but its so convient that they have a zipper on the side so I don't have to re-tie them everytime!

I already own these shoes in black but I loved them so much that I wanted them in this camel colour as well.  I love that they are super comfortable, I wear them almost everyday to work and I am on feet for about 8 hours!  Plus they look good with everything, I wear them with pants, skirts, tights, dresses.

Basically, I love getting new shoes, especially in the mail it's so exciting. Can't wait to break them in!

Haley likes them too.

New Trend: Bright Lips

I've never been a make-up person, as I have mentioned before, but I think I could get use to putting on some lipstick before I leave the house.  I've being noticing a lot in magazines recently that everyone has these bright lip colours on, not just reds but bright pinks as well.

pictures from www.handbag.com
I think I enjoy the pink more then the bright red because while they are both glamorous looks, the pink colours can be worn more casually as well.  So today before I went to the drugstore and picked out a lipstick, covergirl's powerpink.  It looks intensly pink but when I actually put it on it's not nearly as pink as I had hoped, perhaps my lips are too dark? This one still shimmery, I was hoping for a brighter, matte lipstick. Regardless I think it's a nice change for me, gives my lips a little colour because I normally only wear un-tinted lip balm.

sweater and bodysuit American Apparel, jeans Stitches, pearls Le Chateau

I would like to do my 5 favorites of the month once I've been blogging consistently for a month, but for now these are some of my 5 favorite products EVER!
In the first and second pictures are my favorite beauty/hair products:
1.  DNA Mascara by Smashbox (about $20 at sephora).  I'm not a big make-up person, but I will not leave the house without mascara! I like this mascara because it's easy to do multiple coats for long and thick mascara without it looking like you have 5 eyelashes.  Plus it is never flaky and my eyelashes still feel soft with it on.
2.  Smith's Lip Balm ($9 at American Apparel).  This is super moisturizing and is amazing for the cold Newfoundland winters that make my lips super dry! It's rose and mint scented.
3.  Aveeno Positively Radiant face moisturizer (not sure how much but it can be bought at any drugstore).  My skin is extremely dry and my face is no exception.  This lotion is great, it's not oily and my face isn't dry afterwards, plus is has built in SPF 15, yay.
4.  Cake's Satin Sugar (again I can't remember the price but it's available at sephora).  My hair is super thin, and therefore it will look greasy easily.  Cake is just a powder that I sprinkle in my hair and brush out after it's aborbed all the oil and presto fresh looking hair! I use it before school when I'm in a rush and I don't have time to wash and do my hair!
5.  John Frieda's Luxurious Volume (sorry again, but I bought it at some drugstore).  Without this my super thin hair would be flat against my head.  I just spray at  the roots, brush to distribute the product, and blow dry with my hair up side down and boom! Volume!

There you go, my five favorite all time products.  Next month I will do my 5 favorite products of the month.  The last two photos are just of my outfit of the day.  I wasn't feeling super good day, still a bit sick, so I wore this super comfortable sweater from American Apparel.  Underneath I have a black body suit and skinny jeans.  And just so I didn't feel like a super frump I added pearls.

More Presents

Since I was in Ottawa and my boyfriend was in St. John's during Christmas, we decided to have our own little Christmas together yesterday.  It was very nice, just exchanged our gifts to each other.  I got him an xbox 360; I found a really good boxing day sale and he was very happy to receive it!

He always gets me lots of things, I won't name off all of them, but I was very excited for Tara Stiles' SlimCalmSexy yoga book, and a Julia Child cook book.  Plus he was in St. Louis for a trip right before Christmas and I was telling him how much I loved Lush (we don't have one in St. John's).  So he bought me a few items from there which was really nice; two hair conditioners (my hair is very long and I NEED conditioner!) 1. American Dream which is suppose to strength your hair and 2. Coolaulin which is suppose to moisturize.  They both smell delicious and I can't wait to try them.  He also got me Bon Bon a lip scrub which I think is my favorite since by lips are always dry and it'll be nice to be able to get the dead skin off them!! All of the products are hand made and made with natural ingredient, it really is a cool a store and if you are lucky enough to have one in your city you should check it out!
